Peter Mather's recent submission of Alaskan photos adds some gems to our collection. A large, male wolverine roams during a snowstorm on Alaska's North Slope. Wolverine have large snowshow like feet that enable them to float on top of snow, one of many adaptations that help them thrive in winter. Roused from hibernation a grizzly bear scavenges for nutrition and happens upon a wolverine food cache that Peter had set up with a camera trap. And a new favorite, a tolerant arctic fox makes eye contact while pausing during a feeding session.
