Photographer Suzi Eszterhas documents the work of Dr. Rebecca Cliffe, of The Sloth Conservation Foundation, with urban sloths in Costa Rica. The slow-moving canopy dwellers are running into increasing difficulty in the fast moving world of fragmented forests. Using state of the art "backpacks," Dr. Cliffe collects data on sloth behavior to better enable rescue organizations to rehabilitate and release orphans, and injured animals back into the wild. The Foundation is also working to develop a network of simple overhead bridges, safeguarding sloths from dangers on the ground as well as from travel along electrical wires.
