Tolga Bat Hospital (52) More files...
At the Australian Tolga Bat Hospital workers and volunteers bring hope to orphaned and sick bats. Plagued by infection from ticks which leads to paralysis the local bat communities were being hit hard. No only would adults no longer be able to roost but their pups were orphaned. Competition with farmers for crops means injuries from barbed wire and fruit tree nets as well. Since its establishment in 1997 the bat hospital has nursed thousands of bats back to health and have released them back into the wild.
