The Alaska Sea Life Center rescues sick, injured or orphaned marine mammals, including sea otters. The Wildlife Rescue Team is made up of veterinarians, biologists, animal care specialists, and highly trained rescuers. It takes an entire team of different people with different skills, working around the clock, to raise a single otter pup. After rigorous care, feeding lessons and a clean bill of health by the age of six months the pups relocate to their forever homes when they are adopted by worthy aquariums and zoos.
