From the forests of Sabah Suzi Eszterhas brings us an overview of life in a proboscis monkey social group. Juveniles engaged in play-fighting, mothers protecting their young and territorial males are included in this selection of 74 images. These endangered species are easily recognized by the males' prominent noses which give them their common name. Scientists are unsure of their use - perhaps to thermoregulate, to attract mates or to amplify vocalizations. Regardless, their noses can get so large that the animals have to move them aside in order to feed!
