Of the world's 36 cat species the Iberian lynx is the only one designated as Critically Endangered and in danger of extinction by the IUCN. A potent symbol of Spain and the Spanish people, if the world were to lose the Iberian, or Spanish, Lynx it would be the first feline species extinction since the sabre-toothed tiger. Pete and Renee bring us rare photos of the conservation efforts towards boosting the species' populations and the expansion of their fragmented habitats along with images of wild and captive Lynx.
On 2002 there were less than 100 lynx in the wild but now thanks to the dedicated conservation groups like Exsitu this number has risen to 300.
