Bedraggled after a night's rain, a great grey owl shelters her brood in a nest atop a lodgepole pine snag. A breeding couple preen and nuzzle each other frequently in reinforcement of their pair bonds. A lone owl perches at the edge of a clear-cut forest listening for the tell tale sounds of rodents amid the brush below. Michael Quinton shows us the lifecycle of this elusive and little studied raptor as we follow a mated pair through courtship, nesting and rearing of their young in Island Park, Idaho.
