Once widespread in Europe, Castor fiber, the European Beaver was nearly hunted to extinction for its fur and castoreum (the secretion for its scent gland). The animals have successfully been reintroduced into much of their former range which gave Ingo Arndt the chance to capture some very rare photos of these animals including underwater shots and mothers with her babies inside their lodge.
