Cry on High: Simien Jackals (25) More files... by Laurent Geslin/NPL
French photographer Laurent Geslin augments his impressive canid portfolio with this collection showcasing the lives of Africa's only "wolf". Geslin's mission to photograph the rarest dog in the world took him to the Bale Mountains National Park, Ethiopia, where the last population exists. Here, on the cold, surging plains of the Afroalpine ecosystem, wolves fight for their survival against the twin threats of human settlement and rabies, bought to the population by domestic dogs. Geslin's beautiful photographs epitomize the lives of these animals, as well as covering the conservation program to vaccinate the remaining population against rabies
