The world now has more Giant Pandas. In 2016 this species' status changed from Endangered to Vulnerable thanks to the work of conservationists. In the spring of 2017 our photographer, Suzi Eszterhas, visited two breeding centers in China to learn how they are helping the Giant Panda population bounce back. Using techniques like artificial insemination, 24-hour nursery care and enrichment programs veterinarians and caregivers tend to their charges. With less than 2,000 bears surviving in the wild everyone counts.
